Jesus, the Prince of Peace, tells us in
Matthew 5:41 –“And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him
twain.” Going the second mile
requires unselfishness and meekness. (“Look not every man on his own things,
but every man also on the things of others.”
Philippians 2:4). Peace is promised to the meek. Psalm 37:11 says, “But the meek shall
inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of
peace.”(Matthew 5:5 The meek shall inherit the earth). There is a special blessing for those whose
strength is in meekness.
Application: When you are helping others is
adequate what Christ expects of us?
