Young/Middle-Aged Marrieds

The A.L.I.V.E. Ministry (Adults Living In View of Eternity)  is made up of Young to Middle-Aged couples and individuals who are concerned about the eternal state of not only their souls but also the soul of others as well.  We meet during class time on Sunday Morning for Bible Study and Wednesday Evening for a mid-week pick-me-up.  We feel that one of the best ways to stay faithful to Christ and His Church is to strengthen our relationships with Him.…

Christ Over Cancer

College

The Common Christians group at Woodlawn church of Christ, in Florence Alabama, is a ministry for all young professionals from college age to 30s. However, this group is not bound by age brackets; it seeks to serve others through Christ with unity in knowing that we have all things common. Senior Ministry

The Young at Heart group at Woodlawn consists of those who are 50+, and while they may be older in other places, they still have a young heart that loves fellowship, fun, and service to God.

Youth and Family

The Youth Ministry at the Woodlawn Church of Christ strives to prepare young men and women to be shining lights in the community now and as they transition into adulthood. Our classes are full of scripture. Scripture teaches us that we are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). Isaiah’s Call Mission 58

The Josh Willingham Foundation is proud to have its new flagship program by the name of Isaiah’s Call Mission 58. There are local children that do not have enough food to eat. This situation can become more problematic over weekends. So The Josh Willingham Foundation is providing the children with backpacks that are filled with food every week. The unmarked backpacks, once returned, are filled again the next week. Woodlawn is responsible for providing Peanut Butter Crackers for this ministry.…

Lads to Leaders

Lads to Leaders is a program designed to provide young people an opportunity to learn how to be a church leader. Woodlawn has been actively involved with the Lads to Leaders Program for over 40 years. It is the responsibility of our Lad’s director (Ben Kachelman) to ensure the Youth Minister is actively involved in whatever capacity he is needed.

Mission Work

Our Current Mission Efforts World Evangelism Lima, Peru Missions: (Florencio Nunez, local missionary) The Joey Derr Family and Ron Lumpkins make regular visits. Woodlawn began working with the churches in Lima, Peru in1999 when Joey and Laura Beth Derr went to Peru as part of a “Let’s Start Talking” team. Since that time, Joey and Laura have led groups to Lima from our congregation as well as other local congregations. The church we work with is primarily in the district…

Youth Education

“New Berea” (K-5th Grade) is a comprehensive rotational learning approach that allows students to engage with the Bible through a variety of delivery methods.
